The power of feedforward for performance reviews
Running and growing your own business successfully depends a lot on your ability to keep yourself motivated and focused on the end goal. Which is why performance reviews focused on feedback can be so demoralising. Typically, feedback in these sessions takes the form of constructive criticism of current performance which, if delivered poorly, is unlikely to encourage the employee to improve at all and may even worsen the situation.
