Coach & Business Growth Specialist

Martin Baillie

Subconsciously, I guess I have always been a coach. As a leader in a corporate environment, my style was very much a coaching style. I was trained to coach and mentor – to trust and inspire. Coaching my team was an everyday occurrence, but at the time, I didn’t appreciate how valuable an asset it was and how I would use it in my Action Coach business today.

Working in operations for many years (latterly in senior leadership roles) provided me with a wide variety of experiences. I have seen first-hand the issues, challenges and opportunities that business owners face when looking for business growth and development.

As your business coach and part of your team, I wear many hats. I don’t need to have all the answers, but I ask the right questions to help you find the right answers. With objectivity and impartiality, I will coach you to enhance your self-belief and achieve clarity on your direction of travel. By looking at your business differently, you will begin implementing small changes that drive huge success.

As a business coach, my mission, or higher purpose if you like, is to create 1000 new jobs in the companies I coach. For every new job created, I donate £1 to the Whizz Kids charity.

I believe anyone can be coached – you just need to find the right coach!

So, if you have any questions about coaching, get in touch.

Let's get you started

Merv Jeffery

Business Coach

I’ve spent my career in commercial sales and marketing across various sectors. Having worked for global corporations, SME’s and family businesses. Along the way I’ve delivered significant growth and six-figure savings, and handled complex negotiations – experience that gives me a real understanding of the challenges business owners face.

I have always had the ambition to transition into a coaching role as this lends itself to my passion for wanting to help people. My coaching style is pragmatic and inclusive. I focus on measurable outcomes, not just motivation, and work with each client to create strategies that are clear, fair and effective. I also bring a commercial perspective, helping business owners make confident decisions around contracts and strategy.

Clear and approachable communication is at the heart of how I work. I adapt easily to different people and situations, making coaching feel fun and straightforward – even for those who might be sceptical at first. For me, coaching is about partnership and progress. I believe every business can move forward with the right support and a clear plan, and I’m here to help make that happen.

Outside of work, I enjoy family time, watching rugby, having played and coached for Bury St Edmunds. I have a passion for wine tasting, and support the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Born and raised in Bury St Edmunds, I’m proud to be part of the ActionCOACH team, supporting the community that shaped me by helping local business owners grow and create lasting impact.
