Turn how you look at failure on its head

It takes courage to be a business owner. It really does.

Whether you always planned to be a business owner or whether you fell into it by circumstance, there is no doubt it takes courage to make a real go of it.

There is so much to running a business that may be new to you: understanding the numbers, sales and marketing, team recruitment and management. It’s no longer just about you and your skills, and with all these challenges sometimes the day ahead can feel a bit daunting.

Which is why it’s so important to work on your mindset at the start of each day. Set your goals early. Think about what happened the day before and celebrate the wins, no matter how small.

On the flipside, acknowledge any setbacks. The trick here, though, is to not let them control your day, but rather to look at them as learning opportunities.

Try it, instead of saying I failed at something yesterday, say, I learnt something yesterday. Feels better, right?

Keep feeding this growth mindset and I think you will find that the comeback will always be greater than the setback.
