We are well into the year already and hopefully you have found and kept your focus on the things that will make the most positive impact in your business over the next few months. If not though, here’s a few tips that may help.

Now, I’ve found that most business owners face challenges in the following key areas:

Team

Time

Money

Often, there are challenges in all three. This can make it quite difficult to know where to direct your energy and time for maximum effect.

So where to start?

To help you clarify whether you need to focus on team, time or money right now ask yourself these questions:

How many team members do you have and how confident do you feel about leading them?

How do you feel about your team culture right now?

How clear are your team on the goals and priorities of the business?

If you score yourself low here, chances are team is your biggest challenge.

For time,

How do you feel about your ability to work on the business rather than in it?

Do you have the right systems and processes in place so the business can run efficiently without you?

Do you lack the time to work on actively achieving your goals?

Score low in these questions and time management is the issue.

Now money.

How well do you understand the numbers in your business?

Do you ever think you work so hard yet make too little profit?

Do you struggle to find and convert sales leads?

You guessed it, score low here and money matters should be your focus at the moment.

Try to be as objective as you can with your answers. Remember, the aim here is to be realistic about what your challenges are, what may be holding you back from success.

Because if you can identify where the weaknesses and opportunities for growth lie in your business, you’ll be able to realise its true potential quicker than you think.
